2GIG Recessed Door Contact

Make your contact invisible. The 2GIG-DW20R-345 hides inside the door or window frame for a clean look while providing supervised, reliable protection on 345 MHz. It uses a rare-earth magnet, long-life CR2032 coin cell, and offers strong open-air range up to ~450 ft—ideal for front doors, French doors, and casements. An encrypted eSeries version is also available.

Why Choose This with Smart Shield Systems

  • Pro drilling & alignment: We bore the correct 11/16″ holes, set proper depths, and align magnet/sensor for dependable trips.

  • Discreet finish: Hardware disappears once the door is closed—great for premium trim and painted finishes.

  • Clean programming: We enroll and label the zone, verify supervision/tamper/low-battery reporting, and test RF range.

Key Features

  • Hidden, recessed install with compact sensor body and rare-earth magnet.

  • Long wireless reach: up to ~450 ft open air to a 2GIG wireless panel (plan for less indoors).

  • External input capable: accepts N/C dry-contact devices if you want to monitor a second switch at the same opening.

  • Fully supervised: reports alarm/restore, supervisory, and low-battery events.

  • Encrypted option available for eSeries panels.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size hole do you drill?

Use an 11/16″ bit. Typical depths are about 2.6″ into the frame for the sensor and ~0.5″ into the door for the magnet; we align them directly opposite for reliable operation.

How far will it reach the panel?

Spec is ~450 ft open air; indoor range depends on construction. We test RF during commissioning and aim for conservative distances to the receiver.

What battery does it use and how long will it last?

A CR2032 coin cell with ~5-year typical life. Your panel/app will alert on low battery.

Is there an encrypted version?

Yes—2GIG notes an encrypted eSeries version is available for compatible panels (we’ll specify it when your system supports eSeries).
