2GIG Wireless Carbon Monoxide Alarm

Protect your family from the “silent killer.” 2GIG’s wireless CO detectors use an electrochemical sensor and a built-in 85 dB Temporal-4 (T4) sounder to alert you—and your monitoring service—when dangerous CO is present. Current models include the CO8-345 (non-encrypted) and CO8e-345 (encrypted eSeries) with ~350 ft open-air range, 10-year sensor life, and projected 10-year batteries. Legacy systems may use the CO3-345 (5-year sensor life).

Why Choose This with Smart Shield Systems

  • We match the right model: CO8e-345 for eSeries (encrypted) panels, CO8-345 for classic 345-MHz 2GIG panels, or CO3-345 where appropriate—we confirm panel compatibility first.

  • Correct programming: added as a 24-hour Carbon Monoxide zone and tested so central station signals and app alerts work exactly as intended.

  • Code-aware placement: installed near sleeping areas and fuel-burning appliances, following manufacturer guidance for distance from kitchens, vents, and drafts.

  • Lifecycle care: we document the detector’s end-of-life date and schedule checkups so you’re never unprotected.

Key Features

  • Electrochemical CO sensing with wireless reporting of alarm, tamper, supervision, and low battery to your panel.

  • Loud local alert: ≥85 dB T4 pattern sounder for CO events.

  • Long life design: 10-year sensor & projected battery life on CO8/CO8e; legacy CO3 provides 5-year sensor life.

  • Strong RF performance: up to ~350 ft open-air range (site-dependent).

  • Listed & compliant: UL 2075 and related listings on the CO8/CO8e line.

  • Encrypted option: CO8e-345 uses AES-128 encryption for secure signaling to eSeries panels.

Product Specifications (At-a-Glance)

CO8-345 / CO8e-345 (current line)

  • Radio: 345 MHz, supervision ~70 min; range ~350 ft (open air).

  • Sounder: 85 dB (Temporal-4).

  • Power: 2× AAA (3 V) alkaline; projected 10-year battery life.

  • Sensor life: 10 years (end-of-life indicator).

  • Dimensions: 4.72″ × 4.13″ × 1.77″; Operating 32–104 °F, 15–95% RH (non-cond.).

  • Encryption: AES-128 on CO8e-345; compatible with GC2e/GC3e/EDGE.

  • Regulatory: UL 2075, ULC S588, CSFM, ETL.

CO3-345 (legacy)

  • Power: 1× CR123A lithium; 5-year sensor life; end-of-life & low-battery annunciation.

  • Sounder: T4 pattern; local hush/test; full wireless supervision.

Compatibility Notes

  • Panels: CO8e-345 → GC2e / GC3e / EDGE; CO8-345 → 2GIG 345-MHz panels; CO3-345 → legacy 2GIG 345-MHz systems. We verify panel firmware and radio before install.

  • Monitoring & apps: when paired to your 2GIG system, Alarm.com can deliver push/text alerts and dispatch through your monitoring plan. (Behavior depends on your account configuration.)

Popular Use Cases

  • Hallways outside bedrooms and inside sleeping areas

  • Near fuel-burning appliances (furnace rooms, attached garage doorways—placed per manufacturer guidance)

Frequently Asked Questions

Where should a CO detector be installed?

Follow the manual’s guidance: near sleeping areas and on each level; avoid locations directly over stoves/sinks, within 5 ft of cooking appliances, next to drafts/vents, or where dust can accumulate. Wall-mount at least switch-height; ceiling-mount ≥12″ from walls. We handle placement for you.

How is it programmed on the panel?

We enroll it as a 24-hour Carbon Monoxide zone type so it reports day or night, armed or disarmed.

What’s the alarm pattern and volume?

CO events sound Temporal-4 (four short beeps) at about 85 dB and send an alarm to the panel/monitoring center.

How long does it last?

CO8/CO8e list 10-year sensor life (with projected 10-year batteries); the older CO3 is 5-year. The detector will chirp/indicate end-of-life when it’s time to replace.

Does the encrypted model work with any 2GIG panel?

Use CO8e-345 with GC2e/GC3e/EDGE (encrypted). For classic 345-MHz panels without eSeries, use CO8-345 (non-encrypted)
