PowerG Wireless Repeater
The DSC PowerG Wireless Repeater extends the reach of your PowerG alarm system when distance, building layout, or materials would otherwise block signals. It’s mains powered with a 48-hour rechargeable backup, features front & back tamper, and includes LED diagnostics so we can lock in an optimal install.

Why Choose This with Smart Shield Systems
Signal you can trust: we use the repeater’s link-quality test (GOOD/STRONG) to verify placement and range before we finish.
Pro power & backup: we wire the 9 VAC supply, confirm battery charge/backup (~48 hrs), and document AC-fail notifications.
Clean system integration: we enroll to your panel, confirm supervision/low-battery/tamper/AC-fail service messages, and label coverage zones.
Key Features
Extends overall wireless range for PowerG devices; relays messages back to the panel.
LED indications for power, activity, and installation performance diagnostics.
Front & back tamper; compact housing.
48-hour rechargeable backup (Ni-MH 4.8 V, 1300 mAh) keeps coverage during outages.
On-device placement test with GOOD/STRONG signal requirement (UL/ULC: STRONG).

Works with PowerG-capable panels (DSC PowerSeries Neo/Pro, iotega, etc.).
Qolsys IQ Panel 4 / IQ Pro: officially supports PG9920; up to 8 repeaters may be enrolled. Note: PowerG signals are single-hop (you can’t repeat a repeater).
Popular Use Cases
Large homes & warehouses: bridge long distances or dense construction between wings/floors.
Outbuildings & garages: bring far-edge sensors into reliable range without pulling wire.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do you place it correctly?
We mount it high, near an outlet and away from large metal/RC walls, then run the placement test—only GOOD/STRONG results are acceptable (UL/ULC: STRONG).
What happens during a power outage?
The internal Ni-MH pack provides about 48 hours of backup. The system also receives AC-fail and low-battery messages.
Can I chain multiple repeaters to extend farther?
No. PowerG allows a single repeat hop—panel → repeater → device. You can enroll multiple repeaters, but each device can only be repeated once.
How many can my panel support?
IQ Panel 4 lists a limit of 8 PG9920 repeaters (software-dependent). We size and place only what’s needed.
Want stronger, farther PowerG coverage?
Smart Shield Systems will survey your site, place and enroll the PG9920/PG8920/PG4920, verify signal and supervision, and document AC/backup behavior—so every sensor reports in, every time.
