Spec is ~450 ft open-air; indoor range varies with construction. We perform an RF test after enrollment and aim for ≤100 ft to the receiver when possible.

What battery does it use and how long will it last?

A CR2032 coin cell, commonly rated up to ~5 years under normal use. Your panel/app will alert on low battery.

Does it work on windows too?

Yes—DW20R is a standard recessed reed contact. Follow the magnet gap spec (≥0.625″ min / ~0.85″ typical) and correct alignment.
